Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 28, 2026

Bel Covo is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard and continue improving the experience for every visitor.

1. Our Commitment

We believe everyone should be able to get a concrete flooring quote, review our work, and contact us without barriers. Accessibility is not an afterthought; it is built into how we design and maintain this site. We review our pages against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria and address identified issues as a normal part of ongoing maintenance.

2. Accessibility Features Implemented

Structural and semantic markup

  • Semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, footer, article, section) used throughout
  • Logical heading hierarchy (H1 through H3) on every page
  • Landmark regions defined so screen reader users can navigate by section
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of each page for keyboard users

Images and media

  • Descriptive alt text on all informational images
  • Decorative images marked with empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them
  • No auto-playing video or audio content

Keyboard and focus

  • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) reachable by keyboard
  • Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements
  • No keyboard traps; focus always moves predictably
  • Form controls use associated labels and ARIA attributes

Color and contrast

  • Text-to-background contrast ratios meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Color is never used as the sole means of conveying information
  • Interactive states (hover, focus, active) are distinguishable without relying on color alone

Responsive and adaptable design

  • Site reflows without horizontal scroll at 320px viewport width and larger
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Layout adapts to both portrait and landscape orientations

3. Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We take the following steps to maintain and improve compliance over time:

  • Automated accessibility checks run against key pages during development
  • New components and page templates reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria before launch
  • User-reported accessibility issues addressed as a priority, typically within 5 business days
  • Periodic manual review using screen reader software (NVDA, VoiceOver) on primary page types

We acknowledge that despite our efforts, some content may not yet meet the full WCAG 2.1 AA standard. We welcome feedback and will work to resolve any issues you encounter.

4. Known Limitations

The following areas are under active improvement:

  • Project photo gallery: older portfolio images may have generic or missing alt text. We are working through the library to add descriptive captions.
  • Third-party embeds: any embedded maps or external tools may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We will provide text alternatives where possible.

5. Request an Accommodation or Report an Issue

If you encounter a barrier on our site, cannot access any content, or need information in an alternative format, please contact us directly. We will do our best to provide the content or service you need and address the underlying issue.

Please describe the page you were visiting, the assistive technology or browser you were using, and the specific issue you encountered. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
