How much does polished concrete cost in Oklahoma?

Polished concrete cost in Oklahoma runs $3.83 to $6.25 a square foot with us. That covers our base polish up to a floor with every option on it, and it counts setup on a typical 2,000 square foot floor. Where your floor lands comes down to the shine you want, how much stone (aggregate) shows, and the shape your slab is in.

The Oklahoma polished concrete page walks through how we do the work. This page covers what it costs and why. If we pour the slab too, through Pour-4-Polish, the polish costs less. One crew places the slab and polishes it on one trip, so there’s nothing to fix first.

These whole-floor prices leave out the drive cost. That’s our trip to your site, and the quote tool adds it by address.

Project TypeTypical SizeExample FloorPolished, Before the Drive
Warehouse / distribution5,000+ sf5,000 sf$18,400 to $30,150
Retail / restaurant1,000 to 5,000 sf2,500 sf$9,450 to $15,450
Residential or barndo500 to 3,000 sf1,500 sf$5,850 to $9,550

Bigger floors cost less a foot, because setup costs the same no matter the size. A warehouse grind-and-seal, the lighter matte job, is priced per job. We look at the floor first, since the price rides on how much grinding it needs before the sealer goes on.

How does sub-region affect the price?

The price a foot is the same everywhere in Oklahoma. What changes is the job mix, the age of the slabs, and the drive. From Prague, crews reach OKC and the corridor toward Tulsa.

Oklahoma City metro

Cities: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Choctaw, Piedmont. Polished concrete in OKC runs from I-40 warehouse floors in Oklahoma and Canadian counties (400 to 800 grit) to restaurant build-outs in the Plaza District, Paseo, Midtown, and the Wheeler District. Those get a cream or salt-and-pepper finish at 1500 to 3000 grit. Old Film Row warehouses and pre-1980 pads are a warning sign. On those, we run a calcium chloride moisture test (ASTM F1869) before we grind, and we check old tile glue (mastic) for asbestos.

Tulsa metro

Cities: Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Bixby, Jenks, Sand Springs, Sapulpa. Polished concrete in Tulsa, run by our Tulsa team, splits two ways. Logistics floors at the Port of Catoosa and MidAmerica Industrial Park, out through Rogers and Mayes counties, mostly want 400 to 800 grit. Stores, bars, and hotels in the Pearl District, East Village, Kendall-Whittier, and Bishop’s Alley want 1500 to 3000 grit. Greenwood District and downtown reuse projects bring steady work on slabs poured in the oil-boom years.

I-44 corridor and southwest Oklahoma

Cities: Shawnee, Stillwater, Chandler, Stroud, Bristow, Lawton, Cache, Elgin, Duncan. This stretch is heavy on barndo floors across Lincoln, Pottawatomie, Caddo, Logan, and Comanche counties. Cheap rural acreage and light zoning make Oklahoma one of the strongest barndo markets in the southern Plains. Around Lawton, the work runs to shop floors and stores along the southwest industrial corridor. For Lawton, Cache, and Duncan, the quote tool figures the drive from our closest team.

Building a new barndo? Our Slab Boss Pour starts at $5.55 a square foot, and the quote tool prices the thickness you need. Field and edge polishing then run 30% below their regular rate.

Three things set where an Oklahoma floor lands. First is the job mix: OKC and Tulsa stores and restaurants at 800 to 3000 grit, I-40 and I-44 warehouses at 400 to 800, and rural barndos at 800 to 1500. Second is the slab. Film Row and Greenwood District buildings come with VCT glue and no record of a vapor barrier, while newer Oklahoma County and Rogers County warehouse slabs show up clean. Third is the drive on jobs under 1,500 square feet past the H.E. Bailey Turnpike or beyond Muskogee. Shawnee (22 miles), Chandler (13 miles), and Stroud (18 miles) sit closest to Prague. Weather shapes the prep more than the polish: 60 to 70 freeze-thaw cycles a year, 100-degree summers, and big humidity swings in storm season.

What are the Oklahoma polish options?

Every Oklahoma floor we polish is a Slab Boss Polish. The price question is which of two options your floor gets.

The base build (from $3.58 a square foot). This is the full polish on any existing slab, whoever poured it. We grind, hone, put down one coat of hardener, and polish. Some slabs take extra diamond passes: an unknown mix, curing compound, old VCT glue, or a floor less flat than FF 25 under ACI 117, the flatness scale most bids use.

Paired with a SPEC pourWe pour the slab on the same quote (Pour-4-Polish).Field and edge polishing only, at 30% below their regular rate

The base rate is lower than the range at the top because that range also spreads our setup cost over a 2,000 square foot floor. Your own number is the base plus the options you pick, and the quote calculator adds each one as its own line. Not every slab can take every option, so we look at the slab first. A slab we pour through Pour-4-Polish is built for all of them.

Field and edge polishing run 30% below their regular rate with a SPEC pour

When a SPEC pour covers the polish floor on the same quote, field and edge polishing run 30% below their regular rate. Other lines stay at full price. The crew that placed the slab already got it flat and cured it right, so you get a better floor and a smaller bill.

What drives your final price?

Five things move a job up or down.

1. Slab condition. This is the biggest one. Curing compound, tile glue (mastic), or a floor less flat than FF 25 each add passes. Old Film Row and Greenwood District buildings often land here.

2. Grind level. A cream polish costs least. Salt-and-pepper, where the fine stone shows, adds passes. Full stone exposure cuts deepest. Mixes heavy in Arbuckle limestone from south-central Oklahoma quarries hold more shine at 1500 to 3000 grit than river gravel from the Canadian or Arkansas rivers.

3. Square footage. The price a foot drops above 2,000 square feet, and again above 5,000, as setup spreads out.

4. Options you add. See the options table above.

5. Site prep. Structural crack repair, polyurea joint fill, a moisture fix, or old coating removal each add a line. Glue under a 20-year-old VCT floor is priced per job, once we see how much is there.

How does Oklahoma compare to national averages?

Oklahoma sits close to the national average for I-40 and I-44 warehouse work, and a bit under it for barndo floors. Coastal markets quote the same grind levels at $7 to $18 a square foot. The gap grows when we pour the slab too, since most coastal crews never pour the slab they polish. The national polished concrete cost guide has the wider comparison.

How much extra is the drive-out from Prague?

Most crews leave from Prague. The drive cost is its own line on your quote. The quote tool picks our closest team to your address and figures the drive from there.

Small jobs at the edge of the state

On jobs under 1,500 square feet more than 100 miles from our closest team (Enid or the panhandle), a trip for that job alone rarely works at a fair price a foot. Small jobs usually come together when we can pair them with another job in the same county the same week. Ask about paired scheduling when you send your project.

What does an Oklahoma polish quote include?

A Bel Covo polish quote in Oklahoma covers the diamond grinding. On a high-shine floor, that’s 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, and 3000 grit. It also covers the lithium silicate hardener, a final guard coat, a check of the slab before we start, and standard repair that follows ICRI guidance. The drive is in there, plus HEPA dust control for busy blocks like Film Row, the Plaza District, the Pearl District, or Greenwood. We add a calcium chloride test (ASTM F1869) when the slab raises a flag, such as a pre-1990 pour or old water stains, or when you want one. Some items get their own lines. That means structural crack repair and a moisture fix for a slab that fails the test. It also means coating removal, dye, moving furniture, and the slab on new construction. Building a barndo? The Oklahoma barndominium polished concrete page covers pour-and-polish pricing.

What does polishing cost on federal, aerospace, and plant floors?

Hangar and shop floors around Tinker and at Vance AFB in Enid see jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, and solvents. Those floors usually get a 400 to 800 grit polish with a fluorosilicate guard rated for that kind of spill. Food plants with harsh chlorine washdowns use the same guard. Both are priced per job, because the price rides on the slab’s age and what has soaked into it over the years.

Polished concrete vs other Oklahoma floor options

Floor TypeUpfront per sfUpkeep
Polished concrete$3.83 to $6.25No recoat (a fresh guard coat once a year)
Epoxy coating (100% solids)$6.08 to $10.17Recoat every 5 to 12 years
Stained concrete$2.19 to $6.29Reseal every 2 to 4 years
VCT tile$4 to $8[1]Strip and wax every year
Commercial carpet$3 to $8Replace every 5 to 7 years

Polished concrete wins over the long run, with no coating to redo. The yearly guard coat and burnish runs $0.72 a square foot, plus setup and the drive. Over 20 years, VCT runs $13 to $30 a square foot once you count the yearly strip and wax, and commercial carpet runs $14 to $40 with its replacements. On a 5,000 square foot Oklahoma floor, polish comes out well ahead of VCT or carpet, and ahead of epoxy too.

How does Oklahoma’s climate change the prep?

The panhandle gets 18 to 22 inches of rain a year at 70 to 80 percent humidity. Kiamichi country in the southeast gets 50-plus inches, with summer humidity above 80 percent. The Cross Timbers band through the middle falls in between. The ground changes too. Red bed clay in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties shrinks and swells with rain. The Wichita uplift rock around Fort Sill and the Arkoma basin sandstone in the Choctaw Nation each push on a slab in their own way. Our prep follows those bands. A McAlester job needs more crack fill and joint checks than a panhandle pour of the same size.

How do you get a quote?

Start at the online quote calculator. Enter your Oklahoma city, your square footage, the shine you want, and any slab problems you know about. It returns a line for each part: the diamond grinding steps, the lithium silicate hardener, the final guard coat, the drive, and any prep you need.

Enter your square footage and your project address. The tool figures the drive and the work, so you get a real number, not a wide range.

Why do prices vary between contractors?

Grind level. A $3 a square foot “polished concrete” quote may get you a 200-grit floor. Anything under 800 grit is honed, not polished.

Hardener. Lithium silicate holds up to wear better than sodium or potassium silicate. That matters under forklifts in Oklahoma County and Rogers County warehouses.

Pass count. A high shine takes 7 to 9 passes with finer and finer diamonds. Shortcut quotes run 4 to 5, and the scratches show under LED lights.

Honest prep. Old Film Row, Stockyards City, and Greenwood District slabs deserve a moisture test and a written prep plan, not a “we’ll handle it.” Permian red bed clay under central Oklahoma can push moisture up through pre-1980 slabs with no modern vapor barrier. Skip the test, and white salt deposits (efflorescence) show up within a season.

A low bid rarely means a better deal. It usually means one of these four got skipped, and it shows on the floor long after the crew leaves. Grind it right the first time. Polish it once.

Frequently asked questions

How much does polished concrete cost per square foot in Oklahoma?

Polished concrete in Oklahoma runs $3.83 to $6.25 a square foot with us, with setup counted on a typical 2,000 square foot floor. The low end is our base polish, a cream finish with no stone showing. The high end has every option on it, dye included. A warehouse grind-and-seal at 400 to 800 grit, like a distribution floor on the I-40 belt near Will Rogers or a Catoosa logistics building, is priced per job. Its price rides on how much grinding the slab needs first. A barndo floor in Lincoln or Pottawatomie County and a warehouse in Oklahoma County use the same price list. The drive cost, our trip to your site, is added by address. Slab condition, floor size, and the options you pick set where your job lands.

Why does polished concrete cost more for some Oklahoma projects than others?

Three things move the price: the shine you want, how much stone shows, and the shape the slab is in. A 400 to 800 grit grind-and-seal for an I-40 or I-44 warehouse takes fewer passes and ends in a matte sheen, so it costs less a foot. A 1500 to 3000 grit polish for a Plaza District restaurant or a Pearl District store takes more passes with finer diamonds and ends near a mirror. Stone works the same way. A cream polish, with no stone showing, takes the lightest grind, and full stone exposure cuts deeper and adds passes. The slab is the wild card. Pre-1980 buildings in Film Row, Stockyards City, downtown Tulsa's Art Deco core, the Greenwood District, and the Lawton industrial corridor often have no modern vapor barrier. Many carry old tile glue, acrylic curing compound, or other surface grime. That can mean two to four extra grinding passes before the polish starts.

What is included in a Bel Covo polished concrete quote in Oklahoma?

A standard Oklahoma polish quote covers the diamond grinding through the grits we spec, a lithium silicate hardener (densifier), a final guard coat, and a look over the slab for moisture warning signs. It also covers routine crack and joint repair, the equipment haul, dust control with HEPA-filtered shrouds while we grind, and cleanup. If the slab shows a warning sign, or you ask for one, we add a calcium chloride moisture test (ASTM F1869). These get their own lines: structural crack repair beyond normal tolerances, and a moisture barrier primer when the slab tests above 3 pounds on that calcium chloride test. So do removal of old epoxy, paint, or tile glue, dye, moving furniture or equipment, and the slab itself on new construction. A pour-and-polish job runs through Pour-4-Polish, and when we pour the slab on the same quote, field and edge polishing run 30% below their regular rate. The rest of the polish job stays at its regular price.

Does travel distance affect the Oklahoma polished concrete price?

Yes. Most Oklahoma crews leave from our Prague shop, roughly 45 miles east of downtown OKC. Jobs in and around Tulsa go out from our Tulsa team. The drive cost, our trip to your site with the crew and equipment, is its own line on the quote. The online quote tool picks our closest team to your address and figures the drive from there, so you see it before you send anything. We cover the whole state for commercial and industrial work. For homes, we go roughly 90 miles from Prague.

How does Oklahoma polished concrete pricing compare to other flooring options?

Polished concrete has the lowest cost over 20 years for most Oklahoma shop, store, and home floors. That matters with our freeze-thaw swings and humid spring storms. It runs $3.83 to $6.25 a square foot with us and never needs a recoat. It needs only a fresh guard coat and a burnish about once a year, at $0.72 a square foot plus setup and the drive. Epoxy runs $6.08 to $10.17 a square foot with us. It needs a recoat every 5 to 12 years, and forklift wheels wear it faster in I-40 and I-44 warehouses. Stained concrete runs $2.19 to $6.29 a square foot, but it stands up to wear less well than a polished floor. Carpet in rural Oklahoma homes usually gets replaced every 5 to 7 years. In older Film Row and Greenwood buildings, it grows mold along the slab edges in the humid spring storm season. Over 20 years on a 5,000 square foot floor, polished concrete comes out well ahead of carpet or VCT, and ahead of epoxy too.
