What does epoxy flooring cost in Oklahoma?

Epoxy flooring cost in Oklahoma runs $6.08 to $10.17 a square foot with us for a quartz or metallic floor. A two-car garage (400 to 500 SF) with our flake floor runs $4,000 to $4,900 before the drive cost, which is our trip to your site. A small floor runs above the per-foot range, since setup spreads over fewer feet. Where you land comes down to your slab and the system you pick.

Project TypeTypical SizeInstalled Cost Range
1-car residential garage200 to 250 sf$2,100 to $2,550
2-car residential garage400 to 500 sf$4,000 to $4,900
3-car residential garage600 to 750 sf$5,900 to $7,200
Workshop / shop bay800 to 1,200 sf$6,200 to $10,350
Commercial light-industrial1,500 to 3,000 sf$13,650 to $22,850

Those totals cover grinding, materials, the coats, the polyaspartic topcoat, and anti-slip grit. The drive goes on top. A moisture primer, old-coating removal, or structural repair is its own line, and only when your slab needs it. For garage prices alone, see the Oklahoma garage floor coating cost page. For how the coats work, see our national epoxy flooring cost page.

Oklahoma epoxy flooring cost by system type

You can’t change your slab by the time we get there. The system is the one choice that’s yours, and we offer five of them across Oklahoma:

System TypeCost per SFBest For
Solid-color polyasparticPriced per jobUtility rooms, basic cover, tight budgets
Flake broadcast with polyaspartic topcoat$8.55 to $10.39Most home garages, showrooms, retail
Metallic epoxy with polyaspartic topcoatFrom $5.96High-end homes, restaurants, showrooms
Quartz broadcast with chemical-resistant topcoatFrom $8.17Heavy-wear homes, light industrial, garages that see chemicals
Commercial high-build chemical-resistantPriced per jobPlants, food plants, spill areas, auto bays

The range above includes setup. A single rate can sit a little under it. We sell our flake, metallic, and quartz floors as RESA Flake, RESA Metallic, and RESA Quartz. All three are resinous floor coatings: a resin base with the color locked in and a clear topcoat on top. Solid-color and high-build floors are priced per job, after we see the floor and how it gets used.

How can you tell if your slab needs extra prep?

We check every slab for these signs when we look at your floor. Each one can add a line to your quote:

  • The slab was poured before 1990, or nobody knows if there’s a vapor barrier under it.
  • Paint, an old coating, or tile glue is still stuck to it.
  • Oil has soaked in and left dark stains.
  • There are damp-looking spots, often along a wall by a sprinkler.

Oklahoma epoxy flooring cost by market

The per-foot price is the same across the state. What changes is the drive and the age of the slabs.

I-44 corridor / SW OklahomaShawnee, Stillwater, Chandler, Lawton, Duncan, Cache$6.08 to $10.17Shawnee, Stillwater, and Chandler from our Prague shop; Lawton, Duncan, and Cache from our Wichita Falls team

Around OKC, homeowners in Edmond, Norman, and Moore pick flake and metallic most. Old buildings downtown are a different job. Slabs on Film Row and in Midtown often date to before 1980 and need the extra prep above.

Tulsa runs a lot like OKC, with new garages in Broken Arrow, Owasso, and Bixby. Old buildings downtown and in the Greenwood District have the same pre-1980 slabs. Tulsa summers are more humid, so we run a dehumidifier in a closed garage more often there.

Shawnee, Stillwater, and Chandler sit close to our Prague shop, so the drive is short. Seminole is in that short-drive ring too. The epoxy floor at the Domino’s Pizza in Seminole is one of ours. Around Lawton, we coat more shop bays and farm shops than home garages.

What else moves the price up or down?

Surface prep. This is the biggest one, and the easiest to skimp on, since you can’t see it in a photo. A new builder slab needs standard grinding to ICRI CSP 3, the rough profile a coating grips. Old coatings, oil, or moisture add prep cost. Old commercial floors can also have tile glue or curing compound that has to come off first.

Size. A bigger floor costs less a foot, because setup spreads across more of it. A 200 SF laundry room costs more a foot than a 5,000 SF warehouse floor.

Colors and layers. In each system, more colors and more layers cost more. A metallic floor with lots of colors takes a skilled hand, so it prices near the top of its range.

Moisture. The red clay under much of Oklahoma pushes more water up through slabs than most ground does. We check every slab. If it was poured before 1990, has stains, or you ask, we run two tests. One is the ASTM F1869 calcium chloride test. The other is an ASTM F2170 probe that reads the water inside the slab. Guessing at what’s under the top is how a good-looking floor fails from below. A slab above 3 pounds on the calcium chloride test, or above 80 percent inside, gets a moisture barrier primer at $1.80 a square foot before the base coat. We see it most on old slabs and on garages next to sprinklers.

The drive. The online quote tool works it out from your address and the team nearest you.

The bargain epoxy quote in Oklahoma

A quote far under the range on this page almost always means a thin kit that's 40 to 50 percent solids. It means acid etching, not diamond grinding. It means no moisture check and no polyaspartic topcoat. With our heat swings and summer sun, that coat tends to lift in 12 to 24 months. Ask the crew for four things: the data sheet with the percent solids, how they prep the slab, how they check for moisture, and what the topcoat is. If they can't show you all four, walk away.

Why does every Oklahoma system get a polyaspartic topcoat?

It’s the sun. Plain epoxy yellows within 12 to 18 months under a UV index of 9 to 10, because its resin breaks down in sunlight. Polyaspartic is built not to, so the color you pick is still the color you see three summers later. It also stays hard above 200 F. Epoxy softens at 130 F, and hot tires can pull it up. And polyaspartic flexes a little through our 60 to 70 freeze-thaw cycles a year, where stiff epoxy tends to crack at the joints. For the full side-by-side, see our polyaspartic vs epoxy garage floor post.

How do you get an accurate Oklahoma epoxy flooring quote?

Use the online quote tool. It takes about 2 minutes and tells you what your floor costs, not what epoxy costs in general. It asks for your floor size, your address, the system you want, and a few questions about your slab. The price it gives you includes the drive. For commercial floors that see chemicals, jobs with several areas, or a floor that may need a moisture test, it sets up a visit to look at the slab, at no charge.

Why do quality Oklahoma epoxy installations cost what they cost?

The gap between a cheap two-car garage quote and a careful one is rarely one big thing. It’s four ordinary choices, made well or made cheap. Do they grind the slab or acid-etch it? Is it a full-solids product or a thinned kit? Do they check the slab first? Does it end with polyaspartic or bare epoxy? Skip any one and the floor still looks fine on install day.

Four choices made right the first time beats one of them made wrong twice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does epoxy flooring cost in Oklahoma?

Epoxy flooring in Oklahoma runs $6.08 to $10.17 a square foot with us for a quartz or metallic floor. A two-car garage (400 to 500 SF) with a flake floor and polyaspartic topcoat runs $4,000 to $4,900 before the drive cost. A 1,500 SF light-industrial floor with a chemical-resistant topcoat runs $9,200 to $15,350. The per-foot price is the same in OKC, Tulsa, and the small towns. The slab is what moves you inside the range. An older slab in central OKC or downtown Tulsa with no vapor barrier under it often needs a moisture barrier primer at $1.80 a square foot. A newer builder slab in Edmond or Broken Arrow usually needs only our standard diamond grinding.

Why is professional epoxy flooring worth the cost over DIY in Oklahoma?

Three reasons. First, heat. Slab surface temperatures here swing from below 20 F in a January cold snap to above 130 F behind a south-facing garage door in August. A store kit is 40 to 50 percent solids, so it dries to 3 to 5 mils thick, and it tends to lift within 12 to 24 months of those swings. Our 100 percent solids systems build 20-plus mils and can hold for 15 to 20 years. Second, moisture. Older OKC, Tulsa, and Lawton slabs with no modern vapor barrier can read above 3 pounds on the ASTM F1869 calcium chloride test. That slab needs a moisture barrier primer, and no kit comes with one. Third, sun. Our polyaspartic topcoat costs more up front, but it holds its color through a summer UV index of 9 to 10. Kit epoxy can yellow within 12 to 18 months.

What drives epoxy flooring price differences across Oklahoma cities?

The per-foot price doesn't change by city. Three things move your number. The slab is the biggest one. A pre-1980 warehouse on Film Row or an old downtown Tulsa building can need old-coating removal at $1.80 a square foot, a moisture primer, and sometimes tile glue taken out before we grind. A 2024 garage in Edmond, Norman, or Owasso needs only standard prep. Next is the system. Flake runs $8.55 to $10.39 a square foot, quartz and metallic run $6.08 to $10.17, and solid-color polyaspartic and high-build commercial floors are priced per job after we see them. Last is the drive cost. OKC-area jobs go out from our Prague shop, Tulsa-area jobs from our Tulsa team, and Lawton-area jobs from our Wichita Falls team. The quote tool figures the drive from your address.

Does Oklahoma's climate affect epoxy flooring longevity?

Yes, a lot. Heat, sun, freezes, and humidity all work on a floor here. The UV index peaks at 9 to 10 from June through September, and that yellows plain epoxy in a sunny garage within 12 to 18 months. Polyaspartic doesn't yellow in sun, so we put it on every home garage system in Oklahoma. The OKC and Tulsa metros also see 60 to 70 freeze-thaw cycles a year. Polyaspartic flexes a little and holds at saw-cut joints, where stiff epoxy starts to crack after 5 to 7 years. And Tulsa summers are more humid than OKC, often 65 to 75 percent. Damp air can leave a cloudy film on a curing coat, so on Tulsa-area summer jobs we close the garage door and may run a dehumidifier.

What does a Bel Covo Oklahoma epoxy flooring quote include?

Included: diamond grinding with a planetary grinder to ICRI CSP 3 (the rough profile a coating grips), a slab check for moisture warning signs, a primer coat when the slab calls for it, a 100 percent solids epoxy base coat, the flake, metallic, or quartz layer, a polyaspartic topcoat with anti-slip grit, and cleanup. Priced as their own lines: the drive cost, crack repair, ASTM F1869 calcium chloride and ASTM F2170 probe tests when the slab shows a warning sign or you ask for one, old-coating removal at $1.80 a square foot, a moisture barrier primer at $1.80 a square foot for slabs above 3 pounds, structural repair, oil-soaked concrete, and moving cars or equipment. Old tile glue that may hold asbestos goes to a licensed removal company before our crew shows up. Every one of these shows up as its own line on your quote.
